  • Extremely portable thanks to its handle and reduced weight
  • Battery operation allowing you to play anywhere

  • USB/MIDI computer connection and headphones jack port available
  • 61 keys, fewer than a classic piano which has 88
  • No input for connecting a sustain pedal
  • AC adapter sold separately

Casio CT-S100 piano test

Well, what do people really think about the Casio CT-S100 piano? Here’s a broad overview of the main remarks to remember about it.

This keyboard achieves a good overall average rating. This is therefore a very good rating accompanied by rather complimentary comments.

The first positive remark given to the Casio CT-S100 piano concerns its great portability. This is indeed the instrument’s trademark, especially with its very practical handle. But that’s not all – many users praise its very attractive low price. Thanks to this, anyone can start amateur piano practice without going broke. Finally, the Casio CT-S100 receives applause for its good sound quality. For such a small budget, it’s quite amazing to enjoy such sound quality, and that’s an excellent point!

Regarding negative remarks, buyers deplore the fact that the Casio CT-S100 piano has no jack for connecting a sustain pedal. And that’s really very regrettable, especially when you know the importance of this accessory… Other buyers will be saddened to find that no power supply is provided with the instrument. Fortunately for this point, you’ll simply need to order a compatible power supply in addition to your purchase. Don’t worry, I’ll provide you a link to a power supply compatible with the Casio CT-S100 piano at the end of this article. Well yes, I’m not like that anyway!

Casio CT-S100 piano

When starting piano and not knowing if this new passion will last, it’s difficult to invest in an expensive model. The Casio CT-S100 piano understands this well, since it offers a price that defies all competition!

Here, you’ll get your money’s worth! Despite its low price, this keyboard offers an instrument with more than decent sound quality and excellent value for money. It’s simple – there’s nothing cheaper. I also like its small size which makes it truly versatile. With such a featherweight, the Casio CT-S100 is easily transportable anywhere. Finally, and this is probably the most important point, this practical and accessible model will be suitable for beginners.

There’s just one element that really bothers me. Its number of keys? It’s certainly below the maximum, but it’s sufficient for a beginner, and moreover, it makes it transportable anywhere. OK… Its keyboard then? This one is far from a real piano, but this is once again totally understandable. No; what bothers me more than anything, what makes every hair on my body stand up, is the absence of a sustain pedal jack!!! And that Ladies and Gentlemen, is worth three exclamation points. The sustain pedal is an indispensable element for any good piano practice (I explain this in this article), and I admit that a model lacking this essential option makes me grind my teeth.

So yes, for a perfect beginner and occasional use, why not. But if you’re starting piano practice with minimum seriousness, the sustain pedal will be indispensable. The Casio CT-S200 and Casio CT-S300 models understood this well by deciding to add this functionality, which nonetheless makes their prices climb. Obviously!

I therefore remain mixed about this instrument for the sole reason mentioned previously. But otherwise, I must be honest, the Casio CT-S100 piano is a very good way to discover piano. It’s even the cheapest digital piano on the entire site, that says something!

It will sincerely be excellent everywhere for this price, and especially an excellent solution for beginners. At this price, you’ll rarely find so many features, sounds, and such speaker quality. We’re talking about a model under three figures, which is exceptional in this field! Unfortunately, its lack of pedal input is a problem. Maybe it’s installable by tinkering, but that exceeds my area of expertise! To start serenely, I would rather recommend the Casio CT-S1 and Casio LK-S450 which allow adding a sustain pedal. Yes it’s more expensive, which is why the Casio CT-S100 piano remains a very good choice.

In summary, this Casio CT-S100 piano will accompany you everywhere and will be ideal for casual piano playing, provided you don’t want to learn a Chopin Ballade on it!
